  DN College, Hisar won overall trophy and UTD GJUST become runners up of the 11th Inter Zonal Youth Festival of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar.  The participants produced a wonderful glimpse of folk culture in the festival organized in CRS Auditorium of the University. Commissioner Hisar Division Geeta Bharti, IAS was present as the chief guest in the closing and prize distribution ceremony held in the main hall of CRS of the University. Prof. Narsi Ram Bishnoi, Vice-Chancellor presided over the valedictory function. Dr. Vandana Bishnoi, first lady of the University and Prof. Vinod Chhokar, Registrar graced the occasion as guests of honour.

            Chief Guest Commissioner Hisar Division Geeta Bharti, IAS told that drug addiction has become very serious problem for nation and society.  Youth should stay away from this evil and deposit their energy for nation’s development.

          Prof. Narsi Ram Bishnoi, Vice-Chancellor of the University told that the Youth Festival is not only a cultural fest but also a fest of courage, energy and establishing a positive environment. The progress of any nation centers on the consciousness of the youth. The achievements of the youth fest instill confidence in the students. He called upon the youth to use their talents for the society and the nation so that their work can make the university proud. He expressed confidence that the students have learnt a lot from this youth festival.

           Prof. Narsi Ram Bishnoi, Vice-Chancellor of the University said that teams from 18 colleges affiliated to the University participated in 46 genres related to Dance, Music, Theatre, Fine Arts and Literary activities in the Youth Festival. In the cultural activities, the participants in Haryanvi folk dance presented a wonderful glimpse of the dance of Haryana, while in the rituals, Haryanvi traditions were depicted live. In the general group dance, dances from different provinces of the country were presented. The participants also depicted social issues vividly through the article activities. Similarly, in fine arts also, students displayed excellent artistic talent and gave melodious musical presentations in musical activities. Students also expressed their views on various issues in literary activities.

          Prof. Narsi Ram Bishnoi, Vice-Chancellor told that Solo Dance Haryanvi Male, Solo Dance Haryanvi Female, Mime, Group Dance General, Ritual, Mimicry, One Act Play Hindi and One Act Play Sanskrit competitions were organized in the main hall of Chaudhary Ranbir Singh Auditorium. Folk Song Haryanvi Solo, Folk Instrumental Haryanvi Solo, Group Song Haryanvi, Folk Song General Solo, Group Song General Indian and Light Indian Vocal Solo competitions were held in the seminar hall of Teaching Block-4. Debate, elocution, poetry recitation English, poetry recitation Urdu, poetry recitation Punjabi and poetry recitation Haryanvi competitions were organized in Seminar Hall-1 of CRS. On spot photography, mehandi, on spot painting, poster making, rangoli making, clay modeling and cartooning competitions were organized in the crush hall of CRS. A Saang was also organized on the Mayur Rang Manch of the University.

            Prof. Yogesh Chaba, Dean Students Welfare, Prof. Himani Sharma, Director Cultural Affairs and Ajit Singh Director Youth Welfare were present on the occasion.
